Shane McElrath and Christian Craig Take on Quad Lock Hot Laps

A new episode of Quad Lock Hot Laps is live. This time, Shane McElrath and Christian Craig from Honda Racing jump on the sim at Phillip Island and go head-to-head.

Two riders who live on two wheels are trying to find speed in a four-wheel hot lap, all while answering the hottest questions. Watch the episode below:

Shane McElrath

Shane’s pretty dialled in. When it comes to pre-race rituals, there’s no big routine, just one focus: stay present.

He names RJ Hampshire as the hardest rider to overtake, and when the “worst roommate” question comes up, Shane mentions no names, but makes his point: on the road, it all comes down to communication.

And when he’s asked about the dream bike, the answer is exactly what you’d expect: the 2025 Quad Lock Honda.

Christian Craig

Christian keeps things simple too. His pre-race ritual is a quick arm stretch right before it’s time to go.

And when we asked what his favourite album was, Morgan Wallen came up as his go-to album, and of course, his go-to karaoke track would then have to be “I’m the Problem.”

The best part is watching him stay competitive while the questions land at the worst possible moments.

The Hot Laps Standings

Every guest sets an official lap time, which is added to the Quad Lock Hot Laps Standings: our ongoing leaderboard tracking the quickest laps across the series.

In this episode, Christian and Shane clocked in at 4th and 5th on the standings, bumping Glenn Maxwell off the leaderboard.
