Apple has announced its 2023 iPhone 15 range, consisting of four new models:
- iPhone 15 (6.1 inches)
- iPhone 15 Plus (6.7 inches)
- iPhone 15 Pro (6.1 inches)

Lightning to USB-C Ports
As predicted, the iPhone 15 is making the switch from Lightning to USB-C, allowing for faster charging speeds and compatibility with a wider range of chargers and accessories.

Dynamic Island
What was one of the most exclusive features last year for the iPhone 14 Pro series will become the norm for this year’s iPhone 15 range. All iPhone 15 models are going to have a Dynamic Island display meaning the infamous Apple notch will be replaced with a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera and a smaller cutout for the Face ID sensors.
Camera
The iPhone 15 lineup is no exception to the rule of camera upgrades with each new release. Here is a breakdown of the camera upgrades for each model:
iPhone 15 Pro Range has the most powerful iPhone camera system in history with a more advanced 48MP main camera. With the iPhone 15 Pro, you have multiple focal lengths to play with..."it's like having seven pro lenses in your pocket," according to Apple.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus cameras also receive an upgrade with an all-new 48MP Main Camera and 2x Telephoto bringing new meaning to high-resolution shots.
The range also introduces a new generation of Portrait Mode allowing more details and richer colour shine in your portraits.
A-series Chip
The new iPhone 15 Pro lineup will be powered by the A17 Bionic chip, which delivers the best graphics performance in an iPhone yet. With its more energy-efficient design, the A17 Pro can run 4x faster hardware ray tracing than the A16 Bionic's software ray tracing, making it ideal for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will now be powered by the A16 Bionic chip, which was first introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max last year. This chip offers a number of advanced features, including:
- Computational photography, used for 24MP photos and next-gen portraits
- Voice Isolation during phone calls, making it easier for the other person to hear you.
- Smooth performance for graphics-intensive games
- Incredible efficiency for great battery life
Action Button
The iPhone 15 Pro lineup replaces the ringer button with a new Action button, which you can customise to quickly access your favourite features. Choose from shortcuts like silent mode, focus, camera, flashlight, voice memo, and more with a touch of a button.
